Thing is, games don't even use that extra screen estate anyway. However, it seems that most other phones lack this option and instead only have an option to hide the notch, presumably because most people prefer having the extra screen estate outside of stuff like games. However, when taking screenshots inside of the app, you get a black bar on the side with the notch.įor the Pocophone F1 at least, there's the option to "Hide and move status bar", and when you do that, any screenshots you take in those apps will lack that black bar. On Android phones with notches (I don't know how it works on iPhones with notches and it's not relevant here anyway), when using certain apps that do not make use of the status bar, such as games, the screen typically does not make use of the extra screen estate.
